I'm fairly sure the rns315 you had to spec if you wanted Bluetooth, it may not of had the option fitted from the factory. The Bluetooth module in Octavia's is under one of the front seats so you can check to see if one is installed.

im having same problem with HTC one. htc one is coming up on maxidot and skoda rsap is coming up on phone but then it trys to connect and wont, sometimes it says "phone not compatible" . i tried installing a few apps on phone to help but still no joy. would really appreciate help on this coz i commute alot of miles to work. cheers in advance
The best quality I get is the one when phone is connected via bluetooth. Android auto is also not bad but noticeably worse than bluetooth. The worst sound quality is the one I get when using mirrorlink as connection option. Car has Canton sound system and the phone is Samsung S8. Could this be due to cable used to connect or something else?
A chat with your Skoda dealer is a good call. Thirdly, firmware. For Smartlink/Carplay to work, it still needs Bluetooth enabling. Some of the Bluetooth stacks on earlier MIB systems were less than stable. Ask @pab567 to see what the latest firmware is for your MIB system.
