Totally underwhelming for a city of over a million, the only really notable sight is the cathedral (and that can be done in 10 to 20 minutes), public transport is very expensive (a day ticket is more expensive than a day ticket in London, one of the most expensive cities in Europe), the city core is not much different from that of any German
But for a weekend, it's a nice start. Depends on what you're into. Sight seeing: Grand-Place, Manneken-Pis, Galeries Royales St-Hubert, Cathédrale St-Michel et Ste Gudule, Royal Park, Royal Palace, EU quarters, Sablon and Petit Sablon square. Museum: Fine Arts, Magritte, Museum of Natural Science, Bozar David Hockney exhibition,
Me and my friends saw Cinque Terre and hiked through the trails that were open in two days. Bologna is skippable. Verona is a great place to visit. It has a lot of charm and is really a cool city. Not far from Venice at all. I would definitely recommend a day in Verona. It's a lovely little town.

The transition to the cities afterwards is much easier. When compared to Thailand, Vietnam is much less organized (on a touristic point of view). The beaches are not as nice as the Philippines or Thailand either, but people are super nice, food is unbelievably good, and landscapes are stunning. If you are interested in Vietnam country side, add 1EHZ.
