For some reason, today after my ride, my 735xt stopped reading my HR an I just realized it has the wrong time and date (6/22/2020) - it is on automatic time. In the beginning, you need to turn your GARMIN Vivoactive 4 on. To do so press the Action button. After that press and hold the Back button to open the menu. Once the menu appears on the screen, scroll down and tap on the Settings icon. Now scroll all the way down and tap on the System. Afterward, scroll down and select Reset.
From the watch face, hold . Select System > Reset. To reset all of the watch settings to the factory default values and save all user-entered information and activity history, select Reset Default Settings. To delete all activities from the history, select Delete All Activities. To reset all distance and time totals, select Reset Totals.
Each time, I followed the steps I'd been given by the Garmin support rep (I'm on a PC): Go to Garmin device in Explorer; Delete folders ACTIVITY, NEWFILES, REMOTESW on the device itself; Eject device, restart device; Plug in device, sync again if the above don't help, then: Quit Garmin Express; Eject Garmin device, restart device
